Overview:
To get a boat licence in NSW, you will need to demonstrate practical experience and pass the Theory Knowledge test. This course will cover the theory component and the knowledge test only. Once you finish this course you will need to complete a Logbook and then present it with the paperwork we give you to Service NSW to qualify for a NSW General Boat Licence (GBL).
Certification:
The paperwork we give you at the end of your course is to certify you have completed the theory component and passed the GBL knowledge test only. You will also need to complete your Logbook that we provide you at the end of your course. You will need to drive a vessel on 3 seperate occasions completing a series of tasks outlined in your logbook with someone who has held a NSW General Boat Licence for 3 years or longer.
Once complete, you will now be able to drive any recreational vessel in NSW. You can also use your NSW issued licence to operate recreational vessels in other states and territories, in the same way you can use your drivers licence in other states and territories.
