Practical Experience

Boat Practical Overview:

This course will cover the basic practical elements of operating a vessel. This course is designed for anyone who already has a boat licence and would like further experience. This course is conducted on your vessel. Should you wish to do this course on our vessel, we can arrange that for you for an extra fee.

This course is designed to be conducted 1 on 1. However, you can bring one extra person with you should you wish to do so at no extra costs.

Whilst we normally conduct this course at Taren Point, we can also come out to you for an extra fee.

Learning Outcomes:

In this practical component, you will learn the basics of safety on a vessel, how to operate a vessel and the parts of a boat. Our trainers will go through a series of tasks with you that include slow speed manoeuvres, Man Overboard (MOB) simulations, high speed manoeuvres and activities such as beaching, anchoring and mooring a vessel.

We can tailor the course to your needs should you wish to spend time on launching and retrieving your vessel or navigating the waterways.
